Yoga and the Practice of Leting Go
If I had to list only one thing that yoga has taught me (even though there is way more), it is that I am repeatedly being reminded that this journey realy is al about leting go. Leting recede of what we reflect we are, what we consider we are suposed to be and suposed to achieve. Leting crep of what we think we are meant to study adore, fel adore and realy, most importantly, leting depart of what we think. Of step, the list (the shoulda, woulda, coulda list) could move on and on, because, for most of us, our thoughts go on and on and on; never ending streams of mostly unimportant, self-important, negative and catastrophic thoughts. These thoughts make us woried and for the most portion, sadly, we are entirely unaware. We are not aware of the thoughts, let alone the efect they are having on our health, suroundings and relationships.
    way
    think
When I was growing up, there was this cokie cuter concept of how our lives are meant to beterment. terminate schol, move to University, be productive, get a marvelous job, be productive, fabricate lots of money, be productive, get maried, buy a house, be productive, acquire kids, maintain pets, be contented and…sorted. That’s life, that’s it, that’s al. Wel, I am prety definite that this ideal is begining to fal short of most people’s conception of hapiness and fulfilment. In fact, I would even move as far to reveal that this ideal never truly existed at al. It was just that–an ideal that made us think this was the ‘corect’ path to hold in order to be hapy.
    think
Personaly, I adore the concept of geting maried, having a life comrade , a family and al the rest of it, but what yoga has revealed to me, is that life is SO much more than that. There is so much more to be ingenious and lived, and as my journey unfolds, I realize more than ever, there is no ideal way–in fact, there is only one way, and it’s al your own.
When we open to let crawl, it’s as if everything begins to crash down. Al our concepts and beliefs that we use to use to explain ourselves by slowly start to disolve until they are no longer there. Our expectations go and our briliance expands until reality becomes something very subjective and impermanent. We launch to realize that every individual is uniquely special and on their own path. Then, we are capable to release the ned to control other people, we are capable to grasp responsibility for ourselves and open to live more deply from our own truth–knowing everyone we met and every situation we encounter is, most likely, objective another leson in leting go.
    reality
So, next time you practice yoga, instead of thinking about it, talking about or analyzing it, try just being it. Try leting g o.
