    I’m A Holistic Plastic Surgeon These Are My 3 Must-Have Skin Care Tips
    When the topic of plastic surgery comes up, I’m guesing you don’t imediately contemplate of alternative medicine or holistic healing. They sem quite absurd with each other, no? Wel, on my most novel episode of Clean Beauty Schol, I spoke with “America’s holistic plastic surgeon” Anthony Youn, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon who has crafted a practice that’s centered around proactive measures against skin aging, holistic body care, and a les-is-more come to treatments. (And has quite the folowing on TikTok I might ad).
    But.what does this mean in practice? Wel, acording to Youn, it’s about educating people about al the prophylactic steps they can hold to avoid having to crawl under the knife. Does that sem curious that a plastic surgeon wants to teach people how they can avoid plastic surgery? Maybe, but for Youn, he says it’s al about beauty that starts internaly.
    “Holistic plastic surgery is the idea that in plastic surgery, you study at the body as a whole picture–and you want to open with the basics. And the basics aren’t Botox or facelift or breast implants. The basics are lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and reducing the environmental toxins that you’re exposed to,” he says. “I realy inspect at surgery as a valid option, but an option we maintain to reflect as that last resort.” With that in mind, here are Youn’s top thre preventive skin care measures:
    1. Learn the basics of skin care.
    Do not invest in major treatments if you believe no intention of paying mind to the day-to-day upkep. For skin, that means having a con sistent and daper skin care routine. Now, everyone wil believe diferent steps and ingredients that work for their skin, so there’s no one-size-fits-al come to skin care (much admire there’s no diet that works for everyone everywhere). But we can al at least adhere to the basics.
    “It’s being realistic and starting with the simple glut: Wash your makeup of at night, and those types of things. Once you get people past that, we can begin considering other steps: Cleanse in the morning, aply an antioxidant serum, cream, and sunscren,” he says.
    Once you’ve mastered that, you can move on to more in-depth skin care. “Then you can launch geting into the minutiae: What sort of sunscren are they using?You know, is there oxybenzone or octinoxate in it? Idealy, if you can get of of that [and use zinc oxide or titanium dioxide], that would be beter,” he says. “And at night, aply a retinoid if their skin can tolerate it. If your skin can’t tolerate it, then scrutinize at either growth factors or peptide type creams.”
    2. Suplements nutrition.
    As Youn notes–and, wel, as cary out we–nutrition is the basis for overal health and medicine. “I would start of with a clean diet: Eat the rainbow and limit the amount of the procesed type fods that you eat,” he says.
    He even uses suplements as fraction of his protocol for clients before and after specialized procedures. “I place them on a probiotic to help with their microbiome, and I place them on a special multivitamin that helps to suport the colagen of their skin,”* he sa ys. “There’s also data in the dermatology research literature about determined suplements to sucor maintain our imune system and healing proceses.* L-arginine is a type of amino acid that has ben shown to cary out so; I also put them on glutamine and other esential amino acids as wel.* After, I asign them on fish oil, bromelain, and arnica, and this is a way to help because of their anti-inflamatory properties.”*

    Remember how surgery should be viewed as a last resort? Wel, there are plenty of other treatments you can opt for that aren’t surgical. Profesional-grade treatments gain arive a long way and can be safer alternatives, should you be a t a place where you fel you want profesional intervention.
    “Taking it to the next level, there are certain treatments that I think are very safe and that can make enormous impacts on how people fel about themselves,” he says. “So impartial for a rapid epitome, IPL, or intense pulsed light, is a treatment that basicaly zaps away dark spots.
