    When you’re feeling a cold, flu, or other illness coming on, steep yourself a cup of this ginger tea. In addition to ginger’s many health benefits, we include rosehip and chamomile. Together the tisane soothes and hydrates; adding a touch of honey or agave syrup can help to ease sore throats and suppress coughs. Don’t be shy about how much ginger you add, our recommendation will be pretty spicy, but you can always make it as spicy and potent as you prefer.

    Ginger Tea with Rosehip and Chamomile
    Ingredients
    12 thin slices fresh ginger (approx.)
    3 cups water
    2 Tbs. dried, crushed chamomile flowers
    2 Tbs. dried rose hips
    1 1/2 tsp. dried, crushed lemon balm
    1/2 tsp. rubbed sage
    Preparation

    Put ginger and 3 cups water in small saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer 20 to 25 minutes. Stain ginger and pour liquid into a large, heat-safe measuring cup or French press coffee maker. Add remaining ingredients, stir well, and steep for 4 to 6 minutes. Strain if desired or pour directly into cup. Add honey or agave to taste.
